J’Da Prynce, originally named Jeremy Johnson, unearthed his innate connection to rhythm and blues at the tender age of six. Hailing from the vibrant city of Newark, New Jersey, J’Da’s musical journey carried him from the church choirs of his southern upbringing to the spotlight of international stages. With a penchant for storytelling and a deep-rooted love for languages, he graduated from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC, with a BA in Professional English and a Minor in Radio Broadcasting in 1998.
Inspired by legendary artists like James Brown, Prince, and Michael Jackson, as well as contemporary powerhouses Fantasia, Rihanna, and Beyoncé, J’Da Prynce’s music delves into themes of healing, self-love, and perseverance.
In 2006, a move to Greensboro, NC, propelled J’Da into the spotlight as the front man of The Soul Brother’s Band, known for their electrifying tribute to James Brown, which drew standing-room-only crowds across the East Coast, including a memorable performance at The House of Blues in New Orleans.
In 2008, J’Da independently released his debut album, “OPEN THE RELEASE: Ten Years in The Making,” and a year later, he made the move to Atlanta. In 2012, J’Da’s soulful sound and captivating stage presence caught the attention of El-Live Productions. He subsequently embarked on a three-year tour as the lead singer for Xpress Band and Heat, captivating audiences in Asian cities such as Beijing, Singapore, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, and Bangkok. Their mesmerizing performances earned them the prestigious Award for Best Live Entertainment Venue from Bangkok’s Best Dining Magazine for two consecutive years (2014, 2015).
Returning home to North Carolina, J’Da reconnected with his musical roots and lent his artistic prowess to corporate bands, including 8 Past Midnight and 7 Till Sunrise. In September 2023, J’Da Prynce made a triumphant return to the music scene, independently releasing his mid-tempo R&B single, “NOWHERE,” which is currently making waves on the charts in Nigeria, Africa.
