Victoria Anthony isn’t your run-of-the-mill new artist. Refreshingly wise beyond her years, Victoria’s debut single, Sleep, off of her upcoming full-length album, is the culmination of her relentless work ethic, undeniable talent, and involvement that goes beyond simply being a voice on a song. From writing, production, recording, mixing and mastering, she has been attentive to every detail leading up to the release, including the conceptualization of her branding, album artwork, music videos and more. Her first exposure to the masses came when she got the rare chance of singing her heart out to her idol, superstar recording artist P!nk, in front of 20,000 spectators at Rogers Arena in her hometown of Vancouver. The video garnered worldwide press coverage and millions of views on YouTube which led Anthony to start writing her own original music and working with some of the music industry’s top producers and songwriters. “The meaning behind “Sleep” is about living in the moment and going for what you want,” she declared. “The lyrics ‘I don’t wanna sleep’ and ‘There’s a spark in my system burning for days’ both stem from just being so engaged and in love with life in general, that you do not want to stop, even for something as vital as sleep. I see the song as an accurate metaphor for life.”
