Tammy Harris is a talented lyricist & vocalist from Chicago, Il. Tammy’s music is a smooth blend of Old School R&B Soul fused with elements of Jazz & Funk. Tammy’s debut album , Can’t Keep A Good Woman Down”, released in 2003 is a mix of funky grooves, attitude & raw emotion.
Tammy’s sophomore project “Natural Vibe” released in 2007 offers a deeper listen into the artistry of Miss Harris. This album features remixes of the title song & “Come Over” by The Remix King, Grammy award-winning Maurice Joshua and Grammy award-winning Arranger Rob Diggy whose credits include the Grammy winning re-mix of Crazy in Love for Beyonce.
Tammy received an honorable mention in the 2002 & 2003 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her songs “I’m Through; I’m Done” & “Only To You”. Tammy also has received nominations in the LA Music Awards for her songs “Come Over” and “If”. In addition, Tammy was recognized in the Song of the Year Songwriting Competition as a Finalist for “Come Over” in Aug 2006, Runner-up for “Baby I Need You” in Nov 2006, & Suggested Artist for “You Are” in Jun 2007.
After a bit of a hiatus, Tammy reconnected with her love of music. In the summer of 2019, Tammy released, “Love”, which features re-recorded versions of earlier releases & new material. In 2020, Tammy released, “Chicology,” which features remakes from some of the greatest artists to come out Chicago. Tammy is currently working on a new original project, as well as, Chicology 2.
