“ Polygon Heart ” by Acacia Sears

Acacia Sears is a lifetime resident of Baltimore, Maryland, and a prominent member of the local indie music scene. She is currently releasing singles off her upcoming album, “Egress,” a story of divorce, grief, and the Millennial Midlife Crisis. “Polygon Heart” comes in late in the album, and takes place in the future: all the things she will have done by the end of her life. As a middle-aged person looking forward to looking backward, she approaches this perspective with trepidation and hope for the things she has yet to have accomplished. On this album, she lays bare the truths of her affair and later divorce, her mother’s suicide, a ten year period of depression and stagnation, and surviving the pandemic. There is even a murder ballad called “Burn the Bed,” which will be released on October 25th, just in time for Halloween.
