Toly Rod is a singer/songwriter from the Dominican Republic. His passion for music started when he grabbed an acoustic guitar at the age of eleven. Toly booked his first professional job during his senior year of high school; he was casted in the Dominican Republic production of High School Musical On Stage.
Once Toly graduated from high school he decided to take a further step in his musical career and assisted to one of the best schools for performing arts in New York City (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy). Right after his training at AMDA he booked his first show in New York City with a latino theater company, performing in a bilingual musical. After his first gig he was hired by a different production company to play the role of Ritchie Valens in the musical “The Buddy Holly Story”; his participation was well mentioned in local news.
After trying theater Toly decided to focus more on original music and started working on his own project as a soloist artist. During the process also collaborates with other artists and producers writing songs and making original music. He currently works for entertainment companies as a singer/performer and plays the lead role in the award winning Off Broadway musical “La Canción” (Music by the great Vico C).
His new single “I Don’t Want This To End” is out NOW. Which will also be part of his upcoming album “Ahora”.
