French singer/actor David Serero is an acclaimed performer with a resonant baritone voice that has found him working on-stage in musicals and solo performances, as well as in film and television. Born in Paris, France in 1981, Serero began his career as a jazz pianist and arranger after studying at both the American School of Modern Music and at the Bill Evans Piano Academy in Paris. In 2001 Serero relocated to New York City, where he continued to hone his craft, studying vocal technique with teachers from the Metropolitan Opera.
Around 2003 he moved to Russia, where he enrolled at the Rimsky Korsakov Music Conservatory. It was here that he made his stage debut, playing Scarpia in Tosca and Germont in La Traviata. More high-profile roles followed, including playing Escamillo in Carmen at the Brasov Opera (2006) and Alfio in Cavalliera Rusticana and Canio in I Pagliacci in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (2008), as well as starring roles in Parisian productions of La Perichole and La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein (2010). In 2011, Serero starred in a staging of The Dybbuk in Israel, followed a year later with his starring role as Don Quixote in a Parisian production of Man of La Mancha.
In 2013, Serero made his Broadway solo debut with an appearance at the Snapple Theater Center in New York, and released his debut studio album, All I Care About Is Love…. Also in 2013, he wrote, directed, and co-starred in the musical You Are Not Alone: The Only Jackson Musical alongside Jermaine Jackson. In 2014, Serero returned with two albums, Broadway Baritone, Vol. 1: Prague Philharmonic and the Frank Sinatra tribute The Crooner Baritone. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
