In addition to contributing to “The Session Man.” the extraordinary documentary of piano man Nicky Hopkins, RATU has participated in several non-profit projects and a full on four albums and Bob Dylan, Good as He’s Been to Us…” and their own project, “Living Life on the Upbeat!”
are a genre-bending new band on a mission to bring good vibes and catchy tunes. They made their professional recording debut in 2022 with the song “Just Us Two”. That track introduced an eclectic crew with an infectiously positive outlook and a taste for lo-fi indie-pop nuggets.
In less than a year since their debut, the prolific troupe has produced sixteen singles and the six-song EP “Living Life On the Upbeat”. They have connected with fans around the world with their originals as well as covers of songs by iconic artists like Bob Marley and The Beach Boys. Their latest is a song inspired by the love between a dog and the girl who saved her.
“We’ve Got Time” is the brand new single from Rachael and the Upbeats, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 2, 2023. As the track opens, a mostly acoustic ensemble lays down a shuffling organic midtempo groove. On the mic a female vocalist offers the freedom of a lazy afternoon. A male emcee takes a verse before the singer returns to paint the periphery with harmony.
