Danish- Canadian genre-defying artist Abøn is a composer, vocalist, producer and dancer. Abøn’s sound is ethereal and enchanting, recognized by her mesmerizing layered vocals and subtle electronic textures, inviting listeners into a warm field of sound and enlivened imagination.
Her style is said to be reminiscent of artists like Aurora, Lana Del Ray and Juliana Barwick. Her music has been featured in the feature film “Tag Min Hånd” and the TV series Carmen Curlers, and her recent single “Orion” was featured in Planetariums in Alberta.
She has collaborated with Kevin Hearn from the Barenaked Ladies, David Clayton Thomas from Blood Sweat and Tears, The Beach Boys, Justin Nozuka, amoung others. She was invited to the Banff Centre for the Arts for 2 residencies, the Netherlands International Songwriters Competition, and the National Music Centre in Canada with Steven Page. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and M.Mus from Berklee College of Music.
Abøn was the former composer and performer for The Willows, a jazz trio based in Toronto. She is currently finishing her debut album combined with a fantasy novel that is set to release in the winter of 2023.
