trauma is an up and coming artist from Brisbane, Australia. Heavily inspired by the American underground rap scene, he cites Jace!, Yeat and Autumn! as his biggest influences while also incorporating elements of the Soundcloud emo-rap era in Juice WRLD, Lil Peep and XXXTENTACION.
Using music as an personal outlet, trauma encapsulates his experiences into song form, expressing himself over emerging dark ambient, PluggnB and Asian Rock instrumentals. Previously known as ‘insomniac’ (now insomniac archive) he has displayed his versatility and potential over hyperpop and emo-rap compositions as shown in early works of ‘DESPAIR’ his final project ‘shattered memories’.
After a period of inconsistent releases and artist’s block, trauma underwent an image change and changed his sound entirely, and arguably for the better. Accepting his flaws, insecurities and mental health, he has created a more vulnerable but confident approach to his future works, thus spawning trauma. His much awaited debut project titled ‘metamorphosis’ displays his growth as an artist and as a person.
