The Volclays are a group of high school buddies from San Diego, CA who have collaborated on several projects over the years. Kyle Wilcox (vocals), Dan Wilcox (guitar), Graham Boblit (drums), and Jack Patterson (bass), round out the family-like quartet.
Dynamic, wet, and kinda spooky: The Volclays have garnered die-hard support by throwing parties at their studio called, “Studio 33”, playing house parties, and tireless bar work. The local scene that they have created and led has become a self-contained ecosystem that is truly unique and somewhat filthy.
Goth sensibilities drive a roots-inspired rhythm section that’s laced with southwestern surf guitar and complimented by sweet sad vocals. These lads are a throwback into the future. Like a jug band that’s been up for two weeks and is beginning to hallucinate. The Volclays deliver energetic performances that you’d be bummed to miss.
Their debut EP, “All Night” came out January 1st, 2020 and was produced by Scott Montoya (The Growlers, Soft Palms), at COMA Studios in Long Beach, CA. They will be releasing one EP a month, for the entire year of 2020; some songs produced by Scott, and some done at Studio 33.
