Anesthetic Youth is a four-piece alternative indie rock band based in HCMC formed in 2017, composed by Giang (vocal), Luis (drums), Jesus (bass) and Angelo (guitar). Although Anesthetic Youth is based in Vietnam, the members are a medley of nationalities, Giang is Vietnamese, Jesus is Peruvian, Luis is American and Angelo is Portuguese.
The band started in 2017 as a Metal/Hardcore band but, after several changes in the line up and adding Giang as a vocalist, they adventure themselves into a more experimental musical path. They released their first single, Self Portrait in June 2018 followed by their debut EP, DYSTOPIA in February 2019, recorded and mastered by Tran Kiet at WaveStorm studio.
Anesthetic Youth music can be described as a blend of emotional, experimental and alternative band, with muscular guitar lines from the heart of hard-rock, a precise and driving rhythm section and a fiery front-woman leading the way.
At the moment they are touring South East Asia to promote their first single “Fortune and fame” from their debut album to be released in November 2020.
